Patni top:
After getting the blessing of Vaishno Devi all of us wanted to visit heaven on earth Kashmir. Patnitop can be called the Gate of heaven Kashmir. Next morning after getting ready and having our lunch we are ready for our road trip to Kashmir via Patnitop. We loaded our luggage into the car’s boot and set off for our destination Patnitop. Patnitop is a tourist destination for all seasons.

About:
Patnitop is located in the Udhampur district in Jammu and Kashmir on the way from Udhampur to Srinagar on National Highway 44 112 km from Jammu. It is situated at an altitude of 2,024 m (6,640 ft). Patnitop is approx 85 km from Katra and takes around 3 to 4 hours by road. It is located on the Jammu side of Jammu and Kashmir state. It is a perfectly safe destination because it is free from militant activities.

The majestic mountains of the Himalayas and beautiful orchards kept us glued while we looked out the window. Patnitop is famous for its distinctive seasons each with its specialty and charm. In summer the entire valley turns into a beautiful painting of varied shades of green. Spring seas a million blossoms turning the ground into a riot of colors. In autumn green turns into gold and finally to rustic red. And in winter landscape turns bare only to be covered with white color of snow.

We always see the traffic of all types (buses, trucks, autorickshaw) on Delhi roads and mostly in all metro cities. We always hate traffic on the road in our cities. But who can hate this kind of traffic which stopped our way before Patnitop? 🙂 A flock of sheep stopped my way. We take a halt to watch them going in zigzag fashion. We clicked so many selfies with them.

How can I forget those tall green trees of deodar, pine, and cedar? It was difficult for me to capture them in my camera frame.

Each bend of road unfolds a new vista and leave you openmouthed. We wanted to stop at all the points so much so that at one point our driver said if this is the way you travel this two and half hour journey from Katra to Patnitop will take more than half a day. and really we are stopping between and soaking the beauty outside.

Each passing moment was a celebration of natural beauty that proliferates the place. My heart was saying to me to sit there and admire it. Clouds in the blue sky keep changing their shapes and colors as if God was creating a new painting with each passing moment.

This picturesque hill station is endowed with meadows surrounded by thick forests of deodar, pine and cedar trees. I felt God painted each piece of land in different colors and decorated each piece with snow clad mountains, trees, flying clouds in the blue sky.

We stopped at Vaishnavi Dham to have our lunch.
